The “Osteopathy and Sports Medicine” course is a unique opportunity to learn more about osteopathic techniques applied to the health and performance of athletes. The ultimate goal is to teach the skills needed to assess and classify athletes from an osteopathic point of view, learning the right methods, especially through clinical practice, to make them immediately applicable in one’s work.

Teaching Methodology
The topics will be dealt with pragmatically thanks to the technical and professional skills of the teachers, developed over the years working in contact with high-level professional footballers and competitive athletes belonging to different sports disciplines.
Participants will be involved in interactive lectures with the use of practical simulations and presentation of clinical cases in order to debate and reflect according to a multidisciplinary approach.

General Objectives of the Course
Evaluation
Evaluation of the athlete with the main prevention strategies and use of osteopathic therapy in competitive and non-competitive sports, proposing clinical cases and a review of the major injuries of the spine and lower limb in the athlete.
Analysis
Analysis of joint biomechanics and the main sports injuries; Organisation of a team of professionals with different but complementary roles to enable more effective intervention with the athlete.
Transmission
Teaching of athlete evaluation techniques and the osteopathic approach, with particular emphasis on the role of the osteopath in a high-profile medical team.
Acquisition
Acquisition of new emergency and recovery manipulation techniques, clinical tests and osteopathic diagnosis.
Adaptation
Adaptation of articular, functional and tissue techniques, rehabilitation and re-athletisation protocols for a quick return to sports.
Classification
Classification of muscle and tendon pathologies, prevention of injuries from a sports medicine point of view.
